Sales win rate calculator FAQs

How do you calculate sales win rate?

Divide closed-won opportunities by all closed opportunities, then multiply by 100. The denominator is won plus lost deals from the same cohort.

Should open opportunities count in win rate?

No. Open opportunities have not reached a final outcome, so they should not enter the current win-rate denominator. Track them separately for scenario planning.

What is a good sales win rate?

There is no universal good rate. Compare consistent opportunity definitions across your own segments, deal sizes, sources, products, and sales motions.

How many wins do I need to reach my target win rate?

The calculator solves for the smallest whole number of consecutive additional wins that makes total wins divided by total closed deals meet or exceed the target.

Can a win rate return to exactly 100% after a loss?

No. Once a closed loss exists, additional wins can move the historical rate closer to 100%, but no finite number can make the ratio exactly 100%.
