Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity held each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It started in 2012 and is now a major fundraising day for nonprofits around the world.
Many nonprofits send five to seven emails: a save-the-date, a match or impact story, a reminder the day before, two or three on the day itself, and a thank-you. This planner schedules seven emails plus two social posts.
Subtract any matching gift from your goal, then divide what is left by your expected average gift and round up. A $10,000 goal with a $2,500 match and a $100 average gift needs 75 gifts.
Start at least three weeks ahead so the save-the-date can go out 21 days before. Secure any matching gift first, because a match gives donors a clear reason to give on the day.
